In 2004 the Peterson family entered a lot of Gesha at Best of Panama. It sold for more than any coffee had before, and the whole industry spent the next twenty years chasing it. This is from that farm.

Esmeralda splits its Gesha by plot — this one's Mario Abajo, lot 6FB. Washed, nothing getting in the way of it.

Coffee blossom on the aroma, and I mean that literally, not as a tasting-notes cliché. Peach shows up next, the ripe kind. Acidity's lemony but low-key about it. Body's thin, more like tea than coffee.

This one's delicate. Use hot water, keep the contact time short — go too long and it just goes flat on you.
