A Bourbon mutation from Réunion Island, found there over two hundred years ago. Pointed beans, conical trees, about half the caffeine of normal arabica. Nobody engineered that. It's how the plant grows.

The low caffeine is the plant's problem, not a feature. Caffeine is how a coffee tree keeps insects off — Laurina has less of it, yields badly, and takes more work than it returns. Almost nobody grew it for a century.

Fermented sealed and without oxygen, then washed. That's where the honey and the spice come from. Jasmine underneath. Soft acidity, light body, closer to black tea than to coffee.

The low caffeine is real, if that matters to you. Two cups at night won't keep you up.
